Isabella Borgeson

Isabella Borgeson is a queer, multiracial Filipina American writer and educator from Oakland, California. She has received fellowships from Voices of Our Nation Art Foundation, Air Serenbe, and the Poetry Incubator through Poetry Foundation and Crescendo Literary. In 2015, Isa performed at the United Nations Climate Change negotiations in Paris for COP21, where she spoke out about the impact of climate change on her mother's hometown in the Philippines devastated by super typhoon Haiyan. Isa's writing has appeared on CNN, the Inquirer, BOAAT Press, and more. In 2018, she was recognized as a “Best New Poet” and published with 50 other emerging writers. Her commitment toward teaching poetry as a tool for resistance keeps her grounded in her communities across the Pacific Ocean.
